Citroen Models Intro

Citroen C1
The Citroen C1 is a small city car which provides excellent value for money. It is available as either a 3-door or 5-door hatchback, both of which provide space for 4 passengers. The C1 is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine which qualifies it for free road tax, and delivers a combined MPG of 66.

It is priced between £8,095 and £10,845.

Citroen C3
Citroen’s popular small family car, the C3, is produced as a 5-door, 5-seater hatchback. It comes with a favourable level of standard equipment and can deliver up to 83mpg with its most frugal engine. Most versions of the C3 emit less than 100g/km of CO2, and consequently are exempt from road tax. Along with low insurance groups, this makes the model a cheap one to maintain.

The new C3 starts from £10,895, with range-topping cars costing £16,880. Because such significant improvements have been made to its exterior appearance, prices for the previous generation model have fallen significantly.

Citroen DS3
The Citroen DS3 is another small family hatchback, which is based on the design of the C3. However it features a funkier styling and is available with a wide range of customisable options. Additionally, a strong range of fuel-efficient engines are on offer and it comes with some excellent kit as standard.

New prices for the DS3 start at £12,840. The most expensive model in the range costs in excess of £21,000, which is disappointing considering that the cabin is almost identical to that of the standard C3.

Citroen C-Zero
The Citroen C-Zero is a fully electric vehicle which is produced as a 5-door hatchback. The power, coming from a 47-kilowatt electric motor, allows it to accelerate from 0 – 62mph in a sluggish 16 seconds and reach a top speed of 80mph. While performance doesn’t exactly set the heart racing, on the plus side the C-Zero is incredibly cheap to run – you’ll never have to visit a petrol station again. It’s also emission-free, however it’s not particularly cheap as an initial purchase; a new one is £26,216.
